Today we headed south into the city of Philadelphia. Our only goal today was to see the historic and downtown areas of Phily and we were ready to explore the founding of our country. We had to drive for about 4 hours from the Boston area to get here. We had to sit in metro traffic for a while and did not particularly find this to be the most enjoyable part of this trip, however we knew we were heading in the right direction and got enough early of a start that we had plenty of time.
We ended up in the historic area of Phily where the famous bell and constitution and Independence hall is located. It was humbling to finally observe and learn about the beginnings and roots of the massive country we had just driven around for 25000 miles. This was the perfect sort of icing not he trip to come home too, and solidified my direction of the trip to make this towards the end of it. It was a new location for both of us, and we felt so great to have learned about this nations humbling beginnings.
Aside from the historic area we decided to have dinner and drinks at a local bar and head back to the hotel as we were tired and ready to get to bed once again after a long fast paced track.
